The following areas in El Dorado County are now only under an evacuation warning, according to Cal Fire:įrom Plummer Ridge south through North South Road including the western portions of Cat Creek and Lower Cat Creek Road. More evacuation orders have now been downgraded. Acreage is now reported at 218,857 while containment is at 71 percent. The US Forest Service slightly downgraded the total acreage burned in the fire. The area had been evacuated since August 16 after the fire sparked in El Dorado County and began an initial repopulation last weekend, allowing residents back in with a permit. The highway remains closed due to public safety concerns and crews are working to remove "hundreds of hazardous trees along the highway" and repairing power and phone lines, guardrails and road signs, Caltrans said.Īdditionally, the Grizzly Flats area is expected to fully reopen with no restrictions at 5 p.m.
